This is the first month long class in the Figure Series taught by Alia El-Bermani. As an introduction to life drawing, we will be working from a nude model using just line to develop your understanding of human proportions, basic anatomy, form, weight and gesture of the figure. With a series of drawing exercises each day, we will build your ability to observe and analyze the human form. This month will focus on developing those skill while using only line.

This Figure Series builds skills from month to month, starting with the basic fundamentals of drawing the figure, then over the course of several months working our way through to painting the figure in oils. Students are welcome to start at any month in the series, though it is recommended that the entire series be taken in order to maximize your development. This class will strengthen your understanding of the human form as well as your drawing and painting ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced student.  Class is limited to 15 students.

HERE IS THE SERIES MONTH BY MONTH:
January: Figure Drawing Fundamentals I – Line
February: Figure Drawing Fundamentals II – Value
