FIGURE DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS II – VALUE

Taught by Alia El-Bermani, the Figure Series continues this month with drawing the figure using tone and value. Working from a live, nude model we will continue to develop your understanding of proper proportions, basic anatomy, and gesture while also considering how light can reveal shape and form. We will use a variety of drawing techniques and media to explore the full range of values to create accurate, sensitive figure drawings.
This Figure Series will build skills from month to month, starting with the basic fundamentals of drawing the figure, then over the course of several months working our way through to painting the figure in oil. Students are welcome to start at any month in the series, though it is recommended that the entire series be taken in order to maximize your development. This class will strengthen your understanding of the human form as well as your drawing and painting ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced student. Class is limited to 12 students.
