AMY ERICKSON
CONTEMPORARY FIGURE IN OILS
3 Day Workshop
November 7 – 9, 2025
10:00 – 5:00pm
Tuition $600
Description:
Using a contemporary approach to painting the figure from a live model, we will focus on seeing the abstracted shapes of color and value that create a figure in space. The class will start with shorter poses and end with a longer pose. We will cover everything from value and temperature, to painting with a full spectrum palette. We will discuss basic proportion and figure structure, but prioritize the experience of finding, simplifying, and organizing shapes of color. This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate painters alike!
