Ricky Mujica Portrait Materials List
The following materials are suggested, but if you have a palette and brushes you’re accustomed to, or other materials, then please use those. Below is my palette and the colors that I use. It’s a very powerful palette that has a gigantic range with relatively few colors, but if you have a set palette that works for you, then by all means, use that as long as you have the three primaries and white. For the yellow, I use Michael Harding Bright Yellow Lake, but Cadmium Yellow Light, or Cadmium Yellow Lemon will do just fine. For a red, I use Michael Harding Pyrrole Red, but Cadmium Red will work. For a blue, I use Ultramarine blue. For White I use Titanium White. I personally prefer Michael Harding colors. They are rich and buttery and perfect for the solvent free painting that I do. Of course it is important to use colors you feel comfortable with. However, I would urge you to stay away from student grade paints. In my experience, those are a waste of money. Below is my palette
