ALLA PRIMA PORTAIT PAINTING IN OILS

The Portrait Series continues with Alla Prima Figure Painting. Working from a different live model each session, learn how to quickly and directly paint the portrait in one sitting. You will develop a deeper understanding of how to quickly assess hue, value and chroma simultaneously while working in oils wet into wet. Painting in this direct manner is an exhilarating practice that will help you become a more confident and efficient painter. Every brushstroke has a purpose. Come gain that confidence and accuracy in representing the portait in oils!
This is the final session of the Portrait Series. This Portrait Series builds skills from month to month, starting with the basic fundamentals of drawing the portrait in line and working our way through to painting the portrait in oil. Working from the live model, we continue to develop your understanding of proper proportions, structure, and basic anatomy of the human head. This class will strengthen your understanding of the portrait as well as strengthen your drawing and painting ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced student.
If the class size warrants, we will hire 2 models, with a maximum size of 15 students. This will ensure you are able to get close enough to the model to see.
