For the self-portrait I’m a Special Snowflake, I asked artists from around the world to send me their own cut, paper snowflake. Painting these cut, paper flakes was a way for me to simultaneously honor these artists, while also revealing how I sometimes feel invisible among the blizzard of amazing talent today. Yet, I stand firmly grounded in my identity as a painter.
