Materials List – Red Chalk Drawing
Instructor: Alia El-Bermani

  • 6-8 sheets of Ivory colored Canson Mi-Teintes paper (usually sold by the sheet)
  • Cretacolor Sanguine Dry Leads with optional wooden holder (I prefer not to use their holder which feels bulky in my hand)
  • Koh-I-Noor Gioconda Red Chalk Pencils
  • 1 General’s White Charcoal Pencil
  •  Kneaded Eraser
  • White clickable eraser, I love Tombow mono zero erasers
  • Sandpaper pad for pencils (or piece of sandpaper from hardware store)
  • One fairly stiff yet clean brush
  • Drawing Board with clips
  • Artist Tape
  • OPTIONAL: Pan Pastel in Sienna color
and PanPastels Soft Knives and Covers – Knife and Covers, No. 4 Point

We will be preparing the paper with watercolor and shellac together on the first day of class.  I will bring everything we need for this but if you could bring the tape especially on this day, that will help.  One sheet will remain untoned, so we can get started drawing the first day while the other sheets dry.
