MATERIALS LIST:

Old Holland Oils:
Titanium or Flake White #2
Yellow Ochre Light
Raw Sienna
Burnt Sienna
Alizarin Crimson
Cadmium Red Light
Viridian
Sap Green
Cobalt Blue
Ultramarine Blue
Ivory Black
Raw Umber

Blockx Oils:
Naples Yellow

Canvas or wood panels:
Stretched linen canvas or wood panel if preferred
Sizes:9×12,11×14,14×17,16×20-yourchoice.
Be prepared for two paintings

Toning (or Grounding):
The painting surface: Dampen surface with Gamsol.  Mix equal parts of Ivory Black and Raw Sienna Spread small amount of paint mixture around the canvas. Wet a cotton cloth with Gamsol. Scrub the paint into the canvas surface with the dampened cloth. Use bold strokes and let the color be uneven & transparent. Tone should be a warm, medium-light grey. Let dry for at least 48hrs.

Medium:
Gamsol + StandOil
Start with pure Gamsol for the first day, adding small amounts of stand oil in subsequent sessions. I’ll explain how to use.

Brushes:
Robert Simmons Bristle Filberts: #2, 4, 8, 10 (at least two of each, the more the better)

Misc.
Palette Knife (triangular shaped)
Wood Palette oiled out with linseed oil (if new)
Metal medium cups (with lids)
Paper Towels
Visor or Hat recommended
