We are excited to welcome renowned artist Ricky Mujica to Alia Fine Art Studios to teach this 3 day portrait painting workshop The Portrait: A Painterly Approach in oils. With an impressive background as an instructor at the prestigious Art Students League of New York and the Florence Academy of Art’s MA program, Ricky brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this immersive experience. Known for his painterly approach to realism, Ricky’s techniques blend traditional methods with modern insights, creating stunning works that capture the
essence of his subjects. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the field.
During the workshop, you’ll delve beyond the fundamentals of oil painting, exploring the intricacies of color and brush handling. Ricky’s hands-on teaching style ensures that you receive personalized attention, helping you to develop your skills and find your artistic voice. INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Ricky Mujica, born in NYC, is an award winning figurative painter, husband and father. Among his awards are, 1rst place (the Cadmium Award) TRAC2019, 1rst place Lore Degenstein Ninth Annual Figure Competition, 1rst place April Round TRAC 2015, The Florence and Ernest Thompson Memorial Award, Finalist several times in the Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America, NOAPS, Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists, WMOCA, Figuratively Speaking, and an Honorable Mention in Figurativas Barcelona.
His paintings have been exhibited and are in collections all over the world. He has been named a “Living Master” by The Art Renewal Center, has a Signature Status with the Portrait Society of America, and is a member of the Poets and Artists Collective. He proudly teaches painting at the Art Students League of New York and is on the faculty of the Florence Academy MA program where he teaches academic drawing and painting.
