ALLA PRIMA FIGURE PAINTING IN OILS

The Portrait Series continues with Alla Prima Figure Painting. Working from a different live nude model each session, learn how to quickly and directly paint the figure in one sitting. You will develop a deeper understanding of how to quickly assess hue, value and chroma simultaneously while working in oils wet into wet. Painting in this direct manner is an exhilarating practice that will help you become a more confident and efficient painter. Every brushstroke has a purpose. Come gain that confidence and accuracy in representing the figure in oils!
This is the final session of the Figure Series which helped students build skills from month to month. We started with the basic fundamentals of drawing the figure in line and working our way through to painting the figure in oil. Working from the live model, you will develop an understanding of proper proportions, structure and basic anatomy of the human figure. This class will strengthen your understanding of the human form as well as strengthen your drawing and painting ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced student. You are welcome to join the Figure Series at any point, though doing the classes sequentially will yield the most improvement. Class is limited to 10 students.
