This is the first month long class in the Figure Series taught by Alia El-Bermani. As an introduction to life drawing, we will be working from a nude model using just line to develop your understanding of human proportions, basic anatomy, form, weight and gesture of the figure. With a series of drawing exercises each day, we will build your ability to observe and analyze the human form.
This Figure Series will build skills from month to month, starting with the basic fundamentals of drawing the figure, then over the course of several months working our way through to painting the figure in oil. Students are welcome to start at any month in the series, though it is recommended that the entire series be taken in order to maximize your development. This class will strengthen your understanding of the human form as well as your drawing and painting ability whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced student. Class is limited to 12 students.
**We currently require all attendees to be masked while in the building. The models are vaccinated and will only remove their mask while on the model stand (more than 6′ from the easels). We will continue to follow all current State and CDC Guidance on face coverings and social distancing. These can be found here. We highly recommend all visitors be fully vaccinated. Please let us know ahead of time, if you have a health concern that we can help accommodate. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
