We are thrilled to announce that acclaimed American artist Angela Cunningham will be coming to Alia Fine Art Studios to offer a free Figure Drawing Demonstration from a live model. Using graphite, she will share her classical approach to accurately blocking in the entire figure and then proceed to modeling the form with subtle value shifts. A limited amount of easels are available if students are interested in drawing along side Angela, or you are welcome to just watch her approach. Space is limited so please register early.
Angela Cunningham is an acclaimed contemporary realist trained in the classical methods. Having studied at the Grand Central Academy as well as at Laguna College of Art and Design, she has shown her work in galleries and institutions across the United States. She draws artistic inspiration from artists both past and present- especially the Naturalists of the late 19th century such as Emile Fraint, William Bliss Baker, the late 19th Century Russian Realists such as Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoi, the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, and contemporary artists Bruno Walpoth, Sally Mann, and Nicola Hicks. She currently lives and works in Asheville, NC.
